Arrange A Service

We have all enjoyed a long and hot summer!  Most of us (if not all of us) have had our heating off.  As the Autumn air starts to set in the need to switch on the heating won’t be far from our minds.

It’s not uncommon to find that thermostats have broken or that pumps have seized, now is the time to arrange a service to ensure your boiler is ready for the cooler temperatures outside.

Arranging a service will help ensure your boiler or fire is ready for winter and could potentially lower your heating bills! As well as checking your boiler is safe and working well, a service will clean up any deposits that have built up which reduce its efficiency and help you save on your heating bills.

Unsafe gas appliance18% more unsafe gas appliances found in summer – Top 10 unsafe cities revealed

Nearly 1,300 sites were identified as unsafe by Gas Safe Register’s inspections team last summer due to dangerous gas appliances being found, 18% higher than the number of unsafe sites recorded in winter months.

Despite these findings, a survey of more than 2,000 UK adults found that one in five (19%) would only consider getting their gas appliances checked if they stopped working.

Unsafe gas appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning and resulted in 201 call outs from the fire and rescue services last year. To keep the nation gas safe this summer, Gas Safe Register is calling for people to get their gas appliances safety checked by a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer if it’s been a year or more since they were last looked at.
